The Project’s objective is to develop and implement a multi-originator synthetic securitization platform that builds on the success of the AfDB’s Room to Run Synthetic Securitization transaction closed in 2018. This innovative SST Platform is designed to optimize the balance sheets of AfDB and DBSA to efficiently transfer credit risk on their respective reference loan portfolios while unlocking additional lending capacity for additional new high-impact development projects. The SST Platform seeks to mobilize private sector capital, provide regulatory capital relief on a revolving basis, and set a precedent for collaboration among multiple originators.
